On 25-26 of October, 2005, in Izhevsk, the capital of the Udmurt Republic, the International Scientific-Practical Conference «Innovations and investment in mechanical engineering and metal working» has taken place. The Conference passed within the framework of the International specialized exhibition «Mechanical engineering. Metallurgy. Metal processing».

At the Conference the report from the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) on the theme «Potential of technical universities and their role in development of the industrial enterprises» has been submitted. The report has been devoted to experience of the organization of innovative activity and mechanisms of technology transfer and introduction of R&D results into manufacture, by creation of the modern innovative infrastructure working on the base of the leading university of Belarus - BNTU. It allows to organize effective functioning a chain «Education - Science - Manufacture». Special interest of the students was caused by a structure of an organization, financing and condition of scientific-innovative activity in Belarus; creation of innovative infrastructure and scientific and technical potential of Belarusian universities, academic and branch science. It is necessary to note the big interest and respect of participants of the conference to our country, as well as to a number of the arrived proposals. So, the representatives of the plant "Metallist" would like to order development and manufacturing of a laser technological complex (developer - affilated enterprise of the technopark "Metolit" at BNTU: «Laser technologies»).
