On 7-10 of November in Berlin took place the 19-th International conference "THE INFORMATION SOCIETY: NEW HORIZONS FOR SCIENCE". Its organizer was the committee CODATA www.codata.org, which is included into the International Committee of Scientific Unions (ICSU). ICSU is a non-government scientific organization in the field of exact and natural sciences. ICSU has the consultative status by UNESCO.

The program of the conference included special events (Practical courses of methods of visualization of scientific information; Workshop on development and presentation of information in the field of material science; discussion about future world summit on information society) and sections, where were represented the reports on different themes, for example, archiving of the data; ecological information; quality of the data; development of open scientific communications; problems of visualization of the data; scientific informatics in Eurasia; problems of E-Learning.

For our universities this conference is interesting, first of all from the point of view of acknowledge with ICSU, as well as EDNES www.ednes.org - "Global network of education and scientific change".
