The Nanotechnology News Network, the Youth Scientific Organization and company "Nanoindustry" with assistance of "Uniastrum Bank" and POWERCOM represent the II Russian competition of youth projects in the field of nanotechnologies. The purpose of the competition is support of perspective young scientists from Russia and CIS-countries.

The nanotechnologies in the next future will make the same revolution in processing materials, as computers have done in processing information. This hi-tech field allows to direct a country on the way of intensive innovative development, employ the majority of scientists and engineers in Russia, heighten other industrial branches to a qualitatively new technological level, raise quality of people life.

The most actual directions of the projects:

1. exact studying an atomic-molecular structure of a substance;
2. behaviour of nanoparticles and nanostructures in organic and inorganic systems;
3. perspective nanomaterials for motor industry and aircraft;
4. nanometrology;
5. micro-and nanoelectromechanics;
6. nanotechnologies in power industry;
7. nanoelectronics and quantum calculations;
8. nanophotonics, lasers and optoelectronics with new physical principles;
9. nanoobjects synthesis management, methods of molecular assembly and self-assembly;
10. nanobiotechnology and nanomedicine;
11. implants and neuron technological interfaces;
12. software and algorithms for nanotools and nanodevices;
13. nanotechnologies for introduction at the industrial enterprises of the Russian Federation;

Schoolboys, students, young scientists and experts can take part in competition in the age of till 30 years, living in the CIS-countries.

The works should be addressed to  in RTF format (12 pt Times New Roman) in Russian or English language till March, 1, 2005 in an application placed on the website of the competition . The pictures and schemes should be sent as a file attached to the letter in JPG format of common size up to 1 Mb.
