The 73-th Izmir International Fair. Report.

From 27 of August till 5 of September, 2004 in expocentre TUYAP FAIR in Izmir (Turkey) took place the 73-th Izmir international fair.

The International Izmir Fair has been carried out annually since 1928 and is a significant event for Turkish republic. Izmir is traditionally considered business capital of the country, its gate opened for foreign trade. Over thousand exhibitors took part at exhibition. One third of them are the international representatives from 64 countries. The exhibition was visited by official delegations from 32 countries. The general number of visitors was about 1,5 million people.

The main direction of the exhibition is industry, consumer goods.
For economy of Turkey the following branches are perspective:
-power, electrical engineer and home appliances
-metallurgy and metal constructions
-light industry
-transport technics (building-road and agricultural)
-water providing and water purification
-equipment for oil and gas industry.

The organizers of the Belarusian exposition at the fair were the Ministry of Trade, Unitary enterprise BELINTEREXPO", Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the Belarusian stand in the 3-d pavilion of general area of 100 square meters, had been represented the samples of production and advertising of the enterprises of the concern "Belneftechim", "Belpromimpex", "Belshina", "Grodnoñhimvolokno", "Horizont", MTZ, Minsk factory of gear-wheels, Minsk watch factory, "BelOMO", "Amkodor-Udarnik", "BelAZ", Belarus metallurgical plant, "Gomselmash", "Mogilevtransmash", "Mogilevchimvolokno", Vitebsk tool-making factory, Grodno factory of automobile units, as well as production of universities of the Ministry of Education, etc.

At the fair the following university exhibits used the greatest interest: electrolite-plasma processing of metals ("Technopark "Metolit" at BNTU), textile materials, yarn and string (Vitebsk State Technological University), heat resisting copper composite materials (Belarusian-Russian University), special technological materials for foundry manufacture (Belarusian National Technical University). The interest to these exhibits is caused by those directions of turkish economy, which are determined by the government as priority.
