On 9-11 of September, in Riga took place the regular conference called Baltic Dynamics. It takes place in the countries of Baltic region. (You can also see a report about the conference Baltic Dynamics - 2003 on our portal).

This year the topic of the conference was "Innovation and development of knowledge-based enterpreneurship". The program of the conference included the Plenary meeting, work in 5 sections, last plenary meeting. As usual before and after the conference were conducted the meetings of working groups on different projects.

The topic of the sections of the conference were: :
1)THE CHALLENGES OF THE IRCs OF NEW MEMBER STATES
2)INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUPPORT
3)INNOVATION POLICY AND NATIONAL INNOVATION SYSTEMS
4)THE NEW ROLE OF UNIVERSITIES IN CREATION OF KNOWLEDGE BASED SOCIETY
5)TRAINING WORKSHOP/BROKERAGE EVENT (FP6 ETI PROJECT "SMEsGoLifeSciences")

Belarus was represented by two organizations: Belarusian Innovative Fund and "Technopark "Metolit" at BNTU.

We notice 2 main features of this conference: magnificent organization and very representative staff of participants, among which were the representatives from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, USA, Belgium, Germany, Iceland, Great Britain, Italy, Austria, Finland, Norway, Slovenia, Belarus, Russia, Hungary, France, Sweden.

This is only one example of utility of participation in the given conference. It is one case, to hear and read about a Silicon Valley in USA and it is absolutely another case to listen to the report of Barbara Harley, executive director of the International Business-Incubator of this Silicon Valley and to have a possibility of asking her about it.

Besides of participation at the conference, the Belarusian participants of the seminar had the meetings with a series of Latvian organizations.

At the end we would like to notice, that the conference "Baltic Dynamics-2005" will take place in Tallinn in August of next year. It will be organized by Estonians and Finns.
