On 18 of March, 2005, on the basis of Belarusian National Technical University has taken place a seminar-meeting "About the most important results of scientific and innovation activity of higher educational institutions during 2004 and goals for 2005".

The First Deputy Minister of Education A.Zhuk has opened the seminar and made a report on the theme "Role of a high school science in the social economic development of Belarus". The head of the department of science and innovation activity of the Ministry of Education O.Reut has acquainted participants of the meeting with results of scientific and innovation activity of higher educational institutions in 2004, as well as with tasks proposed for 2005.

In his statements the first pro-rector of BSU S.Rakhmanov, pro-rector on scientific and industrial activity of BNTU F.Romanjuk, pro-rector on scientific work of BSUIR A.Kuznetsov, pro-rector on scientific work of BrSTU V.Tur, general director of "Technopark "Metolit" at BNTU Y.Aliakseyeu have noticed the most significant development of the organizations, shared an operational experience, made offers on improvement of scientific and innovation activity of higher educational organizations.

At the "round table", which has passed under A.Zhuk's presidency, the analysis has been given to the various aspects connected to scientific and innovation activity in the higher school. For example, questions of interaction of universities, intellectual property, information, marketing and exhibition activity, program "Innovation-2" were discussed.

At the "round table" have made their reports K.Bochkov (BelSUT), Y.Nechepurenko (Research Institute of Physical-Chemical Problems of the BSU), U.Huletski (ICMSRW), S.Rakhmanov (BSU), I.Svadkovsky (Ministry of Education), F.Panteleenko (PSU), G.Senchenko (ICMSRW).

On the results of discussion a series of recommendations has been accepted, as well as the commissions connected to scientific and innovation activity of higher educational organizations were given.
