Meeting of the Coordinating Council of Technical Universities.

The meeting of the Coordinating Council of Technical Universities of the Republic of Belarus took place at the Belarusian National Technical University on 11 April, 2003.

The fulfillment of the State Programme on improving the system of higher technical education, approved by the Council of Ministers' Decree N868 (28.06.2002) was considered.

One of the items of the Programme refers to the work of the InterUniversity center of marketing of the scientific-research works (ICMSRW).

ICMSRW reported the principles of creating a database of high technologies and prospective university research works.

The Coordinating Council composed of rectors of all technical universities and technical schools as well as representatives of some ministries and departments supported the ICMSRW work. The decision of the Coordinating Council on the above problem is as follows:

Taking into consideration urgency of the problem and its practical value for stimulating innovation activity and transfer of high technologies and prospective university research works, the Coordinating Council recommends:

the Belarusian National Technical University and the InterUniversity center of marketing of the scientific-research works to proceed with creating an information search system and a database of high technologies and prospective university research works;

the Universities to provide information about developed high technologies and prospective university research works to the database of ICMSRW in order to update the created database and to present information in the Internet;
to stimulate the activity of technology transfer centers, regional marketing and innovation centers, university departments dealing with collection and analysis of information about high technologies in order to create a database, to stimulate innovation activities and effective transfer of developments;
to proceed with monitoring the market of scientific and technical products and certain aspects of university research, to assist in exhibition, consulting and business planning activities as well as promoting scientific and technical products to consumers in order to further develop an information search system and a database of scientific technologies and university research works.
