Purpose and area of application
Quick-cooled inoculant “Chips” in plates (0,5-3)x(5-50)x(5-50) mm is applied for the inoculation of grey iron and nodular cast iron of any melt method, chemical composition and temperature, desulfuration of grey iron and sources for nodular cast irons
Characteristics
- Base: Si, Al, Fe, Cu
- Active constituents: Ca, Mg, Ba, Zr
- Temperature of initial melt: from 13000C
- Consumption:
- for graphitization and spheroidization 40-80% as compared with classic inoculants
- for desulfuration counting 60-95% of active constituents assimilation
Advantages
- high density and homogeneity of inoculated cast irons
- high assimilation degree for dust-like particles absence
- high dissolution rate even in cold high sulfur cast irons
- self-dispersion under injection in liquid metal
- minimum pyroeffect and smoke formation under processing
- slow oxidation under keeping inoculants
- absence of preliminary preparation to use
- it is permissible open placement on ladle bottom under nodular cast iron inoculation
