Purpose and area of application The method of determination of biomass of grain crops, based on use of investigated interrelations of the form of reflection spectra in spectral range of phyto-active radiation and near the red edge of chlorophyll absorption band with physiological parameters of a vegetative cover. The method may be used for crop forecasting and agriculture area productivity estimating. Ecological monitoring and control for quality of drinking water sources.
Technical opportunities 1. Inspection of farm’s agriculture fields and allocation of test plots for realization of remote shootings and for control biometric measurements. The choosing of tracks of flights for airborne spectral measurements.
2. Carrying out of measurements of upward scattering radiation by portable spectroradiometers "Gemma" or "MS-08" from aboard of the helicopter (plane) from heights 50-300 m or from a mobile ground platform At measurements from the aircraft the spectroradiometers are coupled with a color television chamber for exact binding of spectrometric site and retrieving additional information.For getting of a set of training spectral samples in several control points of chosen test fields the contact measurements of green ground biomass, leaf area and content of weeds are carried out.
3. Preliminary processing of experimental spectral information (filtration, recalculation in energy brightness and brightness coefficients, calculation of various statistical parameters of spectra). Hierarchical classification by spectral ranges. These types of processing are possible on board a carrier.
4. Processing of multi-spectral information with the purpose of decreasing its dimension and analysis by a method of main component and factor analysis. Thematic processing of the spectra using contact measurements, including any additional information on the object.
5. Construction of the computer maps of spatial distribution of biomass of necessary scale.
6. Forecasting of a crop, creation and running of an integrated data bank, including functions of recognition and regression modeling. The method was tested on fields of a number of farms of republic. Accuracy of quantitative retrieval of biomass is about 10-20 %.
