Purpose and area of application

The technology is used for chemical (catalytic) precipitation of thin gold coatings from stable adjusted solutions on a surface of articles of any form and different chemical nature with usage of a sublayer.

The technology and solutions can be used for:

  • printed circuit board
  • contacts in radio and electronic devices
  • frames of integrated circuits
  • clocks
  • medical tools, including needles of acupuncture
  • jeweller articles
  • Technical characteristics of coatings

  • thickness of coatings: 0,1-0,3 µm
  • exterior - brilliant or half- brilliant coatings of pure gold color
  • corrosion resistance - without occurrence of maculae and points of corrosion at tests in a hot chamber and moisture not less than 7 day
  • absence of exterior changes at storage during 7-10 years and more
  • capacity to ultrasonic bonding, soldering and repeated contacts similar to electrochemical deposited gold coatings with depth of 2-4 µm
  • uniformity and reproducibility of coating's depth: ± 0,05 µm
  • maintain intensive friction down to a full abrasion of gold without flaking-off and cracking; adhesion strength more than 1000 H/m (test for flaking-off)
  • Operating characteristics of solutions

  • used solutions are stable at storage a one year and more
  • adjusting of solutions is possible
  • deposition rate of gold ~2,5 µm/h
  • from 1 liter of solution it is possible to produce a gold coating by the area of 0,3-0,5 m2
  • solution temperature: 60-90 0C
  • concentration of gold compounds in recalculation on metal no more than 2 g/l
  • Advantages of the technology

  • simplicity of setting and equipment
  • technology is ecological secure (there aren't free cyanidum-ions
  • usage of chloride complexes of gold is possible
  • economy of gold is in 10 times in comparison with galvanic deposition without worsening of coating's properties

    The technology is protected by the patent of the Republic of Belarus N5520and implemented on "Integral" Plant (Minsk) and joint-stock company "Korall" ( "Module" Plant, Gomel)
