Purpose and area of application 
Polotsk State University has developed a software complex RADUGA and BETA, which realizes requirements in necessary volume in accordance with Belarus norm SNB 5.03.01-02 (native release of Eurocode2) "Concrete and ferro-concrete constructions" regarding calculation of ferro-concrete rod constructions with any form of cross section and reinforcing, in view of diagrams of materials, formation of cracks and redistribution of efforts.
Program BETA is intended for calculation of tensely-deformed conditions of normal and oblique section of a ferro-concrete element, as well as for scientific and engineering calculations at any combination of loading.

- longitudinal compressing/stretching force, enclosed in center or outside the center;
- moment from a body weight;
- preliminary stress;
- crosscutting force;
- torsion.
RADUGA represents the program of the finite-element analysis of statically indeterminate systems with allowance for physical and geometrical nonlinearity. RADUGA represent classical FEM machine. All nonlinear effects are provided with BETA which counts change of bending and longitudinal rigidness, and also displacement of a neutral axis of a reinforced-concrete element.

List of problems solved by software complex BETA
- calculation of constructions on the Ist group of limiting conditions at giving values of external loading;
- calculation of constructions on durability;
- calculation of tensely-deformed conditions of normal section - preliminary intense constructions with consideration of losses of preliminary voltage;
- calculation on the IId group of limiting conditions of the moments of crack formation, width of disclosing of crack and curvature;
- selection of longitudinal and cross armature for maintenance of set durability and crack stability;
- module of calculation for the FEM - program RADUGA.
Usage of software complex BETA The software complex is used in the following organizations of the Republic of Belarus: Polotsk State University, Belarusian National Technical University, Belarusian State Technological University, Novopolotsk Project Institute of Reconstruction and Building, "Brestproject", "Belpromproject", "Minskproject", "Polymir", "BeldorNII".
