Purpose and area of application

   For solving problem of resource and energy saving, replacement of import raw material USC (universal separation coating) has been developed and tested in manufacture (spec. 190491408.001-04). USC is a water-soluble composition (emulsion) of castor oils with addition of nonionic surfactant (polyethylene glycol ethers of fatty acids). USC is intended for usage as a separation coating for modeling equipment at manufacturing crude single forms on the automatic and mechanized production lines, for metal moulds at manufacturing details from aluminum alloys, operations of cold and hot forging, chill casting and etc.

Examples of application

1. Today one of the basic problems during the cold forging is full removal from a surface of the stamped details of the rests of greasing and conserve oils. Laboratory researches have been carried out in the Scientific-Research Institute of Physic and Chemical Problems on processing steel plates by a washing preparation KM-1 for removal of USC and check of a degree of degreasing. Results of tests have shown that USC was effectively removed by washing preparation KM-1 (spec. 05568283.014-99). Conclusion: USC can be recommended for usage on operations of cold forging.

2. During deformation of a steel tape and production of metal tile on manufacturing enterprises there is a problem of protection from wear and destructions of zinc coating. 2 samples from the zinc steel were tested in metallographic laboratories of the Minsk watch plant. The first sample has been made by a usual way (greasing on basis of cutting emulsion), the second sample - with usage of USC. As a result of measurements there was established, that in steel of a sample #1 the zinc is not homogeneous, friable. On the sample # 2 zinc layer is equal, homogeneous. Control of corrosion resistance has shown, that at test within day in the usual medium on the sample #1 in deepening in part there is corrosion, on a sample # 2 - there is not.

3. Industrial tests USC for operations of cold forging at the Minsk automobile plant have confirmed results of research on presence of conservative properties of a material and its complete removal in washing baths.

4. USC is offered to use as the modifying additive in forming mixes in foundry shops at manufacture of iron and non-ferrous castings. Additive USC in quantity of 0,2-1,0 % from forming mix allows to achieve improvement of forming mix. Presence of surface-active substances promotes activation of a forming mix and, as consequence, to increase of gas permeability, decrease of general content of clay. USC can be recommended as replacement of such materials, as mazut and others antiburning and modifying additives. The positive effect is received at test of material USC in foundry shops of the following enterprises: Minsk Tractor Plant, "Centrolit", Minsk Automobile Plant.

5. USC is accepted to introduction on Bobruisk machining-building factory as a separation coating for modeling equipment and modifying additive in a forming mix. The additive in a forming mix of material USC has allowed to lower export of the fulfilled mixes from foundry shop on 25 - 30 % due to the best their stamping, reduce the charge of quartz sand.

6. At the enterprise "Metallon" in Osipovichi the greasing USC is introduced on operations of a covering moulds for casting of aluminum pigs, and on operations of moulding of aluminum under pressure at the joint-stock company "Sigma" in Ghodno.
