Purpose and area of application:
Gomel State University offers GeO2, GeO2-Ag, GeO2-Ag-Ņe, GeO2-Ag-Eu films, and also GeO2, GeO2-Ag, GeO2-Ag-Re films with protective SiO2 coating and technology of their manufacturing. The coatings can be put on a surface of glass, quartz, silicon, germanium. Implementation of particles of silver in GeO2 film provides the new absorbing properties that influence on increase in solar elements efficiency. Additional SiO2 coating, which put on for GeO2-Ag-Re film is used as a protective layer, steady against mechanical influence and action of environments (water, acids, alkalis).
They can be used for manufacturing nonreflecting coatings on optical elements of devices of night vision, heat-visors, solar elements and planar wave-guides.
Technical characteristics: Coefficients of materials refraction are:
GeO2, n = 1,687 at thickness d= 530.5 nm
SiO2 , n=1,512 at thickness d=998.2 nm.
Advantages:
Sol-gel-method allows to receive coatings of high optical quality and, simultaneously, to supervise received films properties more flexibly in comparison with other existing methods (vacuum deposition, colloidal methods). Moreover, sol-gel-method simplifies technological procedure of manufacture of devices.
