The expert system was designed to choose a rational scientifically and practically substantiated methodology for treatment of different forms of pyelonephritis. The software developed on this base enables ordinary practitioners to diagnose accurately and use the effective methods of treatment.

Description of the expert system

The expert system contains good amount of factual data about the state of different parts of the immune system of the people suffering from pyelonephritis at different stages of the disease development and treatment. Using the accumulated database there was developed a mathematical model for treatment the disease depending on the dynamics of the immune state. The data of a sick man are compared with those available in the database, which makes it possible, to determine with a high degree of probability the stage of inflammation of a sick man and receive recommendations how to treat him (her). The expert system takes into account the dynamics of changes in the meaning of 22 indications of the state of the immune system of the organism, the database includes more than 6000 possible combinations of these recommendations for treatment. The testing of the expert system was made on a base of studies results of 1564 case histories and 72 patients of the urology department. The reliability of the forecast is 94 %.
