Purpose and area of application
The objects of control are the items from ferromagnetic materials, mainly non-welded, for example, tubes bends, crack shaft journal, screw of see and river ships, turbine and helicopter blades, boring equipment, main girders of load-carrying structures etc. on enterprises of general, chemical, energy, transport engineering industry.
As a result of magnetographic control appear the surface and near-surface defects of entirety: in details by their production, by repair of equipment, inclusive difficult to access places of items, in objects, which are places at a big height, under water, in details without extraction from the unit, including placed in highly explosive workshops, mines etc. The control can be made in the applied field, as well as on rest magnetism of the object. One of the important features is application the permanent magnets of mass 20...50 g, e.g. in 100...200 times more lightly than usual electromagnets. It allows increasing the convenience and mobility of the method, making wider the area of its application. For the control are used serial magnetographic defectoscopes from Russia or the serial reading device of defectoscope combine with computer. The result of control can be received as figure of defect or corresponding oscilloscope waveform.

Advantage in comparison with methods of capillary defectoscopy: possibility of under-surface defects detection, does not require the cleaning of the control object, higher sensitivity at the detection of surface cracks, higher productivity.
Advantage in comparison with magneto-powder defectoscopy: does not require the surface cleaning of the control object, higher productivity.
This method of control can be used as inspectional one.
